Besides one-off performances my acting career has been through four amateur companies: Dance at the Smithy in Bramhall, Woodford Players, the Footlights Players and Macclesfield Amateur Dramatic Society.

With Dance at the Smithy I have performed lead roles in a variety of musicals and pantomimes, most notably Captain Hook in Peter Pan and Colonel Brockhurst in The Boyfriend plus many other pantomimes, most recently Alphonse in Beauty and the Beast.

At Woodford Players I have played a number of leading and supporting roles as: Michael Starkwedder in The Unexpected Guest, Bertie (George VI) in Crown Matrimonial, for which I won the 2006 NODA for Best Supporting Actor, Myers QC in Witness for the Prosecution, Sir Robert Morton in The Winslow Boy, Sir George Baker (The King's physician) in The Madness of George III, Frank Gibbons in Noel Coward's This Happy Breed and Bob in the comedy Outside Edge.

With Footlights Players I have undertaken a variety of leading parts in Variety Shows and Pantomimes including several solo stand-up comedy performances.

In October 2012 I performed Bachelor Mitchell in Soup for Starters at the National Ovation Awards, winning the Best Actor Award.

I am currently acting for Macclesfield Amateur Dramatic Society where I have played Ezra Chater in Arcadia and Henry VIII in Katherine Howard.
